Avala Lab, through Forest Art Residency and Micro Gallery, is located on Mount Avala, south of Belgrade, near the Monument to the Unknown Hero by Ivan Meštrović. The site combines forested areas, geological layers, and rich cultural-historical heritage, providing a unique setting for artistic and interdisciplinary research.
Participants engage with the site's topographical and ecological characteristics, linking fieldwork and collaboration with scientists to contemporary artistic practices. Projects reflect the complexity of the landscape, its ecological systems, and the memorial context, creating a dialogue between site, research, and artistic methodology.
