Avala Lab is open to a wide range of contemporary artistic and research-based practices, including: visual arts, bio-art and ecological practices, sound and moving image, architecture and spatial practices, speculative design, hybrid and interdisciplinary formats, applied arts and craft-based practices, design research and socially engaged artistic practices, and participatory and community-based projects.
The program encourages crossing disciplinary boundaries and developing new forms of collaboration, supporting experimentation at the intersection of artistic, scientific, and socially engaged practices.
